BIO/CV

I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I am self-taught. I have created my own set of laws, my own “artistic constitution” that guides and nurtures the execution of my work coherently and harmoniously.

In 2015, I moved to Tel Aviv, Israel, for 2 years and where I had my first solo exhibition “Optic Party”, at Ben Ami Gallery (2016).

Then, in 2017, I went to Berlin, Germany, where I participated in a Studio Program, for 7 months, in the Berlin Art Institute. From April until June of 2018, I took part in a group exhibition called “Like Home” at Loop-Raum GLINT gallery.

The work VideoGame was chosen for the exhibition "Escenarios Dinamicos" (Dynamic Stages) for the contest of visual arts 2019 of the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (National Art Fund), from February 21st until March 29th 2020 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The most recent group exhibition I participated in was the 9th edition of ArteLamroth and took place from 06-09 of November in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Other group exhibitions: March 2016 “Color and Movement Celebration”, Al Hagaam Gallery in Raanana, Israel and on October 2012 “Neon Slaught” for New York Kills Artists in Brooklyn, New York.

"For Alejandro Stein, born in Buenos Aires, the relation to abstract seriality comes with an almost psychedelic and hallucinatory stance: Reminiscent of test images, mandalas or works of op-art, his images are influenced by architecture, mosaics and spiritual practice. Through the combination of several patterns and colours, his works convey an intense sensory immediacy. Whilst giving the impression of being produced digitally, they are actually manually made."
